There's a program you can use to convert spotify playlists to TIdal, I cannot imagine Apple would not link up with them too.got too many of em. Aint nobody got time for that

How is apple supposed to compete with Spotify's Free-tier?
I'm no expert, but I dont see Spotify's free lasting.
Ultimately, Apple, Tidal, Google, etc will complain to labels that Spotify's free service is hurting the music biz. And they'll be partially correct.

Here's the thing, these streaming companies want this to be a LIFESTYLE. Netflix has this lifestyle mindset going for them. It's cheap, and with $8-9 they're out of your way.
It takes a constant output of new material to keep ppl signed up, but this is actually where the music biz is strong-suited b/c music comes out every week. And on some level, this could take the biz back to the 90's/early 00's era of sales. People on average used to buy several albums per year back then, which would equal around $100 or so. You charge $10 a month now, it works out to be the same thing.
Plus this family tier, you get 2-3 friends to split a the $15, everybodies eatin'.
When the WWE Network came out, alot of people began selling their VHS/DVD wrestling collections on EBAY b/c they figure they don't need them anymore b/c it's going to be a lifestyle for them.
Mark my words, people WILL throw away their CD's/tapes etc once this streaming war is fully underway, and they won't look back.

Prices for streaming need to be higher - aka digital cable - so it's basically a decision between "do I buy enough albums to justify just getting the service" vs. "I buy so many albums it just made sense for me to get the service"
