The difference is this is the first time Apple has moved to an industry standard. Most of the new tech now is usb-c. The time of having to buy cables that only work with apple products is over.

I've never had more cables fall apart than my iphone/ipad cables. Absolute joke quality of cables to be honest. Never had any usb cables fall apart like them.

I will dump this iPhone X for USB-C. I hate this Lightning cable. My iPad even uses USB-C now.

i wouldnt be surprised if after USB C we see a wireless standard without ports on phones. aint sayin its gonna happen but def think its possible USB C will be the iphones last port.

I think they simply mean changing the side that you plug into the adapter from USB to USB-C. Not the side that you actually plug into the phone...
