You know that you can have a car that works perfectly fine,
A gf/bf that isnt a piece of shyt,
Family and friends that actually act like it,
And a job that isnt that bad.

I'd rather put energy to one of those instead of spending it on people and things that dont deserve it. I appreciate things that are worthy of appreciation.:russell:

I agree. At the point in my life where I know (for the most part) who rides for me and vice versa.

Good feeling to have.:ehh:

...okay??

I mean, if someone shared these sentiments as part of a larger conversation, then they are just trying to smile through and be positive

But stating this as an overarching philosophy ..?
It's problematic on many levels

Let's just pick one
"Complacency"
Life is filled with a lot of stopovers and intermediate steps

Now sometimes it is important to not browbeat ourselves.. expecting the improbable
But excessive normalization and appreciation.. leads to complacency .

No one should ever feel secure and relaxed standing on a railroad track

You might cross it.. you might walk along it for a while.. doing both with awareness
But you would never want to get too happy
Because (1) tripping hazards and (2) a train might blast along at a moment's notice
..both of which will happen sooner or later!!
And if they happen simultaneously??
Welp, you're dead

So yeah, don't normalize subpar situations
Take action to pivot to a better or more secure position

You always have to weigh your options, is it worth sticking with something that caused you to be unhappy
