I don't know if yall were around during the last console cycle but this far in the PS3 was doomed to be a miserable failure let most people tell it. Like the Xbox One after it I bought a PS3 at launch and like the Xbox One I watched the majority of people shyt on it. Needless to say things turned around nicely.

This early in most of this stuff is meaningless. A 3 million console lead isn't insurmountable. Hell the Xbox 360 nursed a 7-ish million console lead for several years.
I know Xbots reading this post like :obama: "Finally some sense in this thread.".

Drop those numbers for the naysayers. Oh wait all you have is a tweet from someone you don't follow that also didn't drop the numbers.

Never the less. 7 million consoles to 4 million consoles. If its not outselling it at a 4:7 ratio its not a big deal. not to mention everyone doesn't have xbox live gold or a great connection and Titanfall requires both.

did you just reply to yourself? :wtf:

-"Life to date, sales of PS4 and Xbox One hardware have more than doubled the combined sales of PS3 and 360 hardware through their first six months of sales,” said NPD analyst Liam Callahan.
-“[Home] console hardware sales increased by 120 percent in April 2014 over last year,” said Callahan.

Both the 360 and PS3 got out of the gate horribly. Publishers need to get off of the teat that is last generation for this gen to flourish.

Not to mention, we look at it like two consoles on the market, three if want to consider Nintendo. The mass market consumer sees four consoles are the market. PS3, PS4, 360 & XB1. Neither the PS3 or 360 are at the mass market price of $200. The highest selling game this year will be a last generation game. That is not good.

The April NPD report confirmed that PlayStation 4 was the top selling next generation console and remains the cumulative leader. in addition, inFAMOUS: Second Son was the top selling next gen software title in April.

Since PS4 launched last november, over 7 million consumers have enjoyed the rich and immersive gameplay, powerful graphics and deeply integrated social features only available on PlayStation. Demand for PS4 continues to outstrip supply and we’re working incredibly hard to provide additional inventory.

We’d like to thank the PlayStation Nation for their amazing support and we’re looking forward to sharing exciting news at E3 next month.

:

The reason you don't see it on the NPD is because the other games in the list are from combined sales on ps3/360/pc/xb1/ps4 . That's why they said it's the best selling "next gen" title as in between PS4 and XB1. Titanfall sales are mainly from the 360 sku.

:whoa: Don't scream at me man, just delivering news.

Console gaming is in trouble. Historically, all of these numbers are bad.
Its too early to say this. Especially when there isnt much of a reason to buy the new hardware. It will be a while before we really know how much cheaper alternatives and PC gaming has effected the console market.

To be fair this number doesnt really hold much value when you consider how long last gen lasted and console sales falling off due to last gen hardware severely needing a price drop.
