This. The new movie isn't really trending, all the discussion is centered on April. Meaning there will be the "if you don't like April as a black woman you're racist" discourse, followed by the "the new TMNT series is woke" screeds from nerds. The result will be a lot of talk/promo but this stuff usually ends in a movie or show under performing. The blue checks love getting RTs for covering this stuff yet don't actually care about the content or watch it. Reminds me of the way Amazon trotted out some black chick to hype the LOTR show, and then weeks after premier she admitted she hadn't seen a single episode yet.

Internet Outrage Machine needs to be flattopped at this point. There's only so much you can further you can milk this shyt. Content creators and influencers will continue stoke the fires because they need the hits and engagement, but regular people will move on.

It's pointless to exert so much energy on shyt that doesn't matter and you had no intention of watching anyway. The target audience(kids) don't care, and TMNT is always getting rebooted lol.
