You really think AB was making money like that from rap? When's the last time you seen an AR AB concert in your city? He's not on a label so there was no advance or backing....

Not having money to have a rap career is how most rappers got in the game.. There's endless expenses and the bigger you get, the bigger the expenses.. nikkas working 9-5 hardly ever blow up and it's not cause they suck... It's cause they don't have the money to fund and grease palms and pay staff, etc etc.... Not like you need to get on in the rap game

He was making moves to transfer that money over legally.. And I'm sure within a few years or year, he would have fully crossed... But he didn't make it...

But we can't sit here championing a Jay-Z and all these moguls when they started their company the same way... Drug money

This is why Meek hating on him was so foul
That was like 3-4 years ago at this point. The feds probably already started the investigation but it's a chance they wouldn't have enough on him 4 years ago if he had went legit back then. I think his plan was obvious.....talk about the shyt he was doing in the streets long enough till he wouldn't have to anymore. It worked for numerous rappers before like Jay, Gucci, Yo Gotti etc so I don't know if it's fair to call him dumb for trying.

Every drug lord that I ever met went to private school or was in gifted/advanced classes in their youth. It makes sense if you think about it.

get what... whats the IT.. we dont get
The It is that when you're in that lifestyle making mad money off of drugs, guins whatever, having women at your feet, living that life...the idea of settling down or settling never comes until it's too late.

I've had friends in that life. They were up. They didn't think about the consequences. Then they got knocked. Then they had to start all over again and barely had any money besides to re-up. Then they got knocked again based on previous violations and now they in jail. It's not that easy as for most that thought never comes into your head.

Imagine rolling into a club in Brooklyn or Manhattan, getting bypassed the front by security, you make anywhere from $1000 to $2500 in a night selling yay, molly, whatever...you pushing miracle whips like Bentleys and Audis while still living in the hoood, you got enough money to wash it in a barbershop or auto body shop. Eventually you move out to long island or something...

Then you get knocked..

Not to say there ain't cats that do that...go from illegal hustle to legal...I've seen it...but selling drugs and moving up from pushing 20 bags of yayo to bricks to being the plug is a high in and of itself. That's what I'm saying. the high obscures reality...the reality being that life doesn't end til you get robbed, shot at, or fukking arrested.

For everyone shytting on Dark Lo,

He didn't know that the letter was sent to Taz. Dark Lo's girlfriend sent the letter to Taz on her own, letting him know they were gonna find out who the snitch was in order to help him out with his case. She didn't know that Taz was the one snitching smh.

That is why Dark Lo showed up to court everyday in support of OBH, he didn't know about the letter.

:snoop:
why didnt they just charge his girl, then.. :patrice:

So it was all done for attention and for clout SMH. I thought real gansgtas moved in silence, according to what Biggie said.

At least people calling it out for what it was: a person addicted to the limelight of the hood. He dreamed of fast money, hoes, and luxury whips. Instead, he got a jail cell for the next 20 years.

Y’all still saying this “Gangsters move in silence” shyt lmaooo. Folks gonna move however they feel. Some dudes gonna be low... some dudes gonna be out front. And that’s it. This mythical land where all the tough guys stay in the shadows shyt is funny. And no matter how low you are you can be told on. So that shyt matters none.

It makes sense that drug lords have the biggest ambitions that stemmed from their youths.

But it is also a shame that the "square" lifestyle is universally hated on and people in this thread actually look down on people that do. Even worse, people never mention the victims of these drug lords/legit street rappers that were law abiding citizens.
