Philly rappers have problems with these diss records because the flow is A1 but the content just isn't there. So their disses sound cool, but they come and go. We had a whole era of Philly beef freestyles, and if you break those videos down we only get a couple really great lines out of each 3-4 minute freestyle. And those are the "classics". For them it's all about flow, conviction & intensity but you can't win a battle on record like that.

The best man for the job is already involved in the beef (Beanie Sigel), all these other Philly dudes can fall back. I don't care what you say about Beans health or whatever... when I listen to "Average Cat" I still get chills. Even though I don't even agree with Beans stance on a lot of the things he said on the record, I felt it in my chest.

Let's not act like Ab ain't throwing subliminals though. Even though I agree with him, he's got an agenda and he prefers to throw subs than come out and diss people. Usually indirect disses aren't respected, but since he has such a crazy rep he doesn't get called out about it. It could be a thing where if something happens to someone, he doesn't want it connected back to him. But that's me giving him the benefit of the doubt because of his crews rep....

Prime example

Quilly did a Game diss. But Ab doesn't want to say Quilly's name because people were trying to connect him to some foul things that happened to Quilly.

not really. he mentioned beans because he involved himself. you saw him smiling in that video like he was all with it.

In which case, Beans (Ab's favorite rapper/gangster) just did the same ish. Game still shyt on 1/2 the city, Meek got embarrassed by Drake, Daylyt shyt on the city...in some cases you have to SYH. If you're an ambassador of the city in the publics eye, you can't continue to let this ish go on.

Let's see, Beans, LOX, Mobb, Fab all jumped in Game's beef with 50...and Beans & Cys took shots at YGz when Game was. Snoop/DPG jump in Pac's beef with Biggie, jumped in Dre's beef with Eazy. Outlawz in the Biggie ish. And Jay-Z got all of Philly to ride on Nas.

I could go back earlier too, but this is what happens.

But in all reality, Meek has NEVER won a battle..not even in Philly.

I disagree. You got great lines, as great as any other dis records in history. Philly is about conviction and intensity but also embarrassing bars, not flow. If people consider Ether and Takeover great dis tracks, Philly have those beat. And Cassidy was one of the forerunners of that new super punchline/witty battle rap.

IMO, people will always like Beanie as the greatest street Philly rapper but his dis tracks aren't top of the pile either...so name has a lot to do with it.

man, none of that has anything to do w/ the point you tried to make. game didnt go at half the city. he went at two philly niggs (three if you count omelly) that just jumped on that ma beat and partied on him. i think he even said he wasnt goin at philly on there. correct me if im wrong. otherwise, that "half the city" is just wrong.
