Rare never before heard and never released to the public voicemail that Tupac had privately left on my friend’s voicemail box. Since 1992, she had saved this voicemail and never released it to the public or distributed to anyone until now.
TUPAC’S MESSAGE TO THE DISABLED (October 14, 1992, Hollywood California) Message from Tupac to Hollywood disabled rocker, the Godfather of the Disabled, Dorik Perman. Tupac had recently in public used the “R” word (retard) to dis people in Hollywood and New York. Dorik Perman being Hollywood’s disabled Godfather took upon himself to approach Tupac to educate him about the disabled in Hollywood, and their plight as musicians, singers, and songwriters alike. Perman contacted Tupac's PR office with an advance copy of a press release being sent out about Shakur’s inappropriate derogative remarks involving retarded people as part of the problem in street gang violence. “Disabled musicians have enough problems in the industry without using derogative terms, and only exasperates stereotypes and negative thinking towards disabled persons in general. ”Being Tupac’s office waited until after the press release went public to let Tupac know, Shakur was upset and contacted Dorik Perman in Hollywood and left this message.
