Are all cold sores, STD related???

You know when people have cold sores around their mouth.Is it true? Someone at work claimed every cold sore is a sign of herpes or some sexual transmitted disease.

Day after christmas, asked some girl with a cold sore for her number. She gave me a fake number. So I might have dodged a bullet.

A cold sore on/around the lips is herpes simplex 1. Yes it can be transmitted sexually. If you see someone with a cold sore on their lips, I wouldn't share a drink w/ them or kiss them.
If they have a sore inside their mouth, it's a chancre/canker sore.

cold sores are the std of the mouth, people try to down play it a bit but its still nasty. Basically anyone with a core sore is gonna claim the kissing one since its "not as bad" but you'll get herpes from either if there is a outbreak and you get that oral "satisfaction"
