Is it possible for a real estate, small business, or stock market person to be reputable?

What if they're Black? Is that possible?

Or is everyone a grifter?

Examples of non-scammy financial influencers?

The Black Person I can think of in the financial space that seems to be everything he says he is (Accountant)

The fair criticism of Tim Ferriss (4 Hour Work Week) is that no one could find his alleged supplement company. (and the supplement business is scammy).

The unfair criticism is that people just read the title of his book and said you can't just work 4 hours a week. The point of the book was that he built a business that made XX,XXX per month, by working 90 hour weeks - and with the use of the internet - he could reduce his tasks to 4 hours per week and make the same money. And then use his "lifestyle" business to travel the globe. He popularized the digital nomad thing to the point that it's a punchline. Bali would not be thriving without him though...

Suze Orman - is said to have a very boring investment portfolio that's not very diversified.

Robert Kiyosaki - Rick Dad Poor Dad - no one can figure out what he invested in, or who Rich Dad was

Damn. I just hear people talk about Ferriss, I had no idea he had a supplement company, that maybe doesn't exist. I'm assuming Ferris made a good amount of money off just the book sales, and public speaking engagements.

Who is that other guy? Who is vaguely like hip hop adjacent? Dad was in the liquor store business. He's Armenian, or something like that. He's been posted here.

Or Spencer Cornelia (who seems to have a hard-on for focusing on Black Financial effery)
spencer goes after the low hanging fruit. the black grifters are so obvious to white people that they can easily make a lot of content in a short time about how scammy they are. also, i was watching a pocket watching with jt livestream and spencer was in the chat. jt and a guest were talking about jay morrison and encouraged spencer to keep focusing on black scammers so more vulnerable people will be informed.

coffee puts way more work into the high dollar scammers and doesnt do nearly the same amount of content. i think coffee's value is in taking down major scams that have some degree of mainstream credibility such as shady crypto exchanges or major influencers. i do remember him doing an expose of that ishowspeed kid once, but that is the only black scammer he targeted that i can think of.

Depends on what they're pushing - general knowledge and/or opinions on whats going on in the finance industry or if they're ultimately trying to get you to buy into something(a course, system, security).

i would say if they teach you the fundamentals of the market for free but charge for access to stock picks, then that is probably a good sign. they want you educated and the way they make money from you is on picks that either tend to be good or not. after several picks, if the performance is not there, then you dump them.

if they are charging for basic education, then that is not automatically a scam, but it is more likely a bad deal at the least.

I'll check the other 3, but the EYL guys get plenty of hatred for being grifters/scammers or bringing on grifters and scammers.
Thanks. Hadn’t heard that. I could see some of the guests being in that lane. I do pick and choose which episodes I want to listen to though. They seem genuinely curious in different avenues of investing. They’re how I found out about Don Peebles

I feel you though
