Are any of you religious?

My dad is a preacher but im slowly but surely starting to drift away from religion..They would always say "God has a plan for you." I always believed it until i moved away for school...Basically i had a wake up call about race relations, socioeconomic class, etc. Basically starting to see the world for what it is, and now it seems like religion is a crutch for them to feel better about certain things in life. Ive always been optimistic...And i can have all the ambition in the world but if the resources aren't there what can you do?

Im curious to see who on here is deeply rooted in a religion. I can't bring this up to my folks because they've been doing it for so long. My grandma still doesn't leave the house when it's storming because that's what they've always done

Sounds like you have some soul-searching my friend. No need to be on coli asking atheists for questions they have no answers to. Time for you to find out what the world is about through reading up on sources available to you. You will find the root causes and effects to every current event and past event. Subjects that matter to you. It's up to you to if you want to open your third-eye for the truth.

of course its a crutch. how can millions of people all pray to completely different religions, and different gods? and all be right?

let me clue you in: your parents dont know what god is, because no human on earth does. so just forget about the rules and the obedience to the sky, and live your life. be a good person. or dont
