sounds like a shyt education. IMO :ehh:

I'm going to enjoy breaking this shyt down :banderas:

Congrats. The world is bigger than your village. Whats this got to do with god existing or not?

1. Theology is akin to being a Pokemon Master.
2. Your theology teacher has one job...and thats NOT to help you honestly assess anything pertaining faith
3. Your parents wouldn't help you either
4. Your coach is another religious person

So you consulted the 3 most religious sources you knew about with questions pertaining to religion.

GREAT job there :russ:

Again, poor personal decisions.

Poor decisions

Doesn't mean god exists since you got your shyt together.

This is going to be GOLDEN :heh:

and?

You know whats also noise? Talking with ambiguity about a "relationship" with the sole creator of the universe you consult on matters it should be too busy to care about.

I'd love to know how god weighs what he responds to you with....or rather, how YOU assess the "strength" of that relationship since god always seems to agree with anything you think :lupe:

Figures that god is technically useless. I'm a black male and have to face that every day. Of course god wouldn't help navigate the visual and social pressures of white supremacy.

says the man who credits god with helping him out of HOMELESSNESS :stopitslime:

Good cop, bad cop? Huh :mjlol:
Good thing we have the law to help actually create a system whereby we can interact and respect one-another.

Hold your breath for 20 minutes then :troll:

This was the most detail-lacking story with the promise of being worth reading i've read on here...and thats saying a lot. Your loquacious rant is as empty as the yogurt I had this morning :wow:

Yeah, that'd be too much work :lolbron:
Especially the kids with bacterial parasites in their eyes. :beli:

Pray AND Follow your heart?

Fam, do you not realize thats the same fukking thing? :dwillhuh:

I'll let you guess which is which :mjpls::pachaha:

Yeah, i'd wish you weren't a fukk-up in your youth either.

Not sure what "god" has to do with it.
 if you think i'm reading all that lol starting to think you have a crush on me the way you appear to get all heated anytime I bring up my faith.

I believe in Jesus :whew:
You don't :bryan:
Do you.:mjpls:
Because honestly...your words mean dyck to me at this point. But feel free to make yourself feel better about yourself by continuing to respond to my posts on religion. I suspect it helps you get through the day.

I am more spiritual than I am religious, I suppose. I feel like most people who were formerly Christian that have this hate towards the church that cannot be contained want to really oppressive churches. The way the Pope is acting now is how I came up in Church. I have my personal relationship and try to do the right thing and that's it. :manny:

I let people cook as long as it is not detrimental.

You stupid zealot. :scust:

Its fine.

Read it or not.

But don't do emotional appeals thinking people won't see through your bullshyt even when you can't.

@Napoleon, what's up with you really ? Do you realize that not everything is a debate and that sometimes we can just share experiences to our fellow members without entering a debating contest that you're making out of everything (above all when it's a religious matter) ? I'm legit baffled by what you are doing in this thread lol. I mean, @Brown_Pride is sharing his thoughts to somebody who's facing an issues he faced a while back (and therefore his testimony is relevant) and you're out here dissecting it phrases by phrases (:mindblown:) as if it was an argument. :dwillhuh:
No offense (I mean it), but do you suffer from some kind of neurodevelopmental disorder that could explain your eagerness to debate about everything ? At this point, it would be the only thing that could rationally explain your behavior.

By the way, how old are you @Brown_Pride ? You pushin 40 right ? :lolbron:

Did I miss the part where comments were off limits?

Let me know

Because on a message board, I'm free to type what I want AS LONG as I generally respect the direction of the thread.

If you don't want your argument to be parsed through, then don't post. Because I parse through arguments I don' t like and support the ones I do.

Don't talk about freedom of expression then bytch (because thats what you're doing, and you know it) about how people address each other on here.

John 14:6
Religion will get you nowhere but Jesus will. One leads to self-righteousness and deception the latter leads to eternal life. Don't be so foolish as to view this world as being the end all of life because all this world offers at the end of the day is vanity and you can't take anything here with you when you die but your soul and spirit. Seek ye first the kingdom of God, breh. Get your eternal life situation taken care of because once your in eternity that's it.

My dad is a preacher but im slowly but surely starting to drift away from religion..They would always say "God has a plan for you." I always believed it until i moved away for school...Basically i had a wake up call about race relations, socioeconomic class, etc. Basically starting to see the world for what it is, and now it seems like religion is a crutch for them to feel better about certain things in life. Ive always been optimistic...And i can have all the ambition in the world but if the resources aren't there what can you do?

Im curious to see who on here is deeply rooted in a religion. I can't bring this up to my folks because they've been doing it for so long. My grandma still doesn't leave the house when it's storming because that's what they've always done

Not really OP. My story is similar to yours in that I was pretty much a nominal Christian until I started college ... went to church, prayed and believed all that stuff was true until I was about 17-18. I'm not sure what it was exactly, but I started questioning why I thought the stories of the bible were true. And after some research, I realized that my religious beliefs weren't as supported with facts as I thought, and there really wasn't a good reason to think they were true.

I "came out" to my parents a few years later, and had long discussions with them... still do on occasion. My mom especially is still devoutly Christian, but I think she understands where I'm coming from, and accepts my position ... even though I know she hopes I come around. I'll probably never tell my grandparents, for reasons similar to yours lol.

But I say ... follow the advice some others have already made... research. Learn as much as you can, not just the religion you were brought up in, but all religions. Find out why people believe what they do, and try to determine if there is good reason to believe as they do. And understand that it's okay if you don't accept any of them as true. If there is a god, surely he wouldn't punish you for using the brain he gave you to honestly find truth, would he?

No one likes the idea of not existing, or being unsure about something as terrifying as death. But I don't think any clergyman has a brain larger than yours, or have some sort of greater knowledge about the afterlife that you aren't privy to.
