Are audio books better than actually reading?

Not better necessarily but they fit into your lifestyle better if you not the type take time out to sit down and read.

I been fukkin wit the audiobooks heavy nowadays. Gym, running, doing shyt around the crib, commute etc. shyt is dope.
I literally dont listen to music anymore.

Depends on the quality of the narrator. some of them can mimick the voice of various people and sound effects really well. Where they basically are illustrating and bringing life the story. Others Just have a dry monotone voice throughout that puts you to sleep.
I like to listen to an audiobook on road trips because it lasts like 15 hours and i don't have to worry about finding a new radio station out in the country somewhere.

I dunno how other folk read, but when I read, I try to mentally picture what the character might sound like, the setting and what's going on replete with a narrator if it lends to that. I try to immerse myself in it and enjoy.

When I listen to an Audiobook, it seems like someone is telling me a story that I got to focus too much into and at times tune out. It's like I'm just being told of what's happening from scene to scene.

But then again I have a problem with focus and interest so unless I get used to something, I just stick to a method I prefer, which is reading shyt myself. Heck, I don't even like reading books outside of physical form most the times unless it's a one off novel I'll never revisit.

depends not everyone learns the same... i do both i remember the key points from both methods so... the book is better because u can easily highlight important section and such.

I do learn best when i combine reading with some type of video/lecture, for example i would read kant critique of pure reason and then watch a video to see if actually got most of the points etc.....:manny:
