reading ain't natural it's hella stressful on the eyes*

Your post reminds me of something interesting I heard Dr. Phil Valentine say once.

He asserted females ought not read much as it is taxing and depletes us of Vitamin A. I’m not doing his explanation justice, but I was able to follow his logic. He also said something about languages like Arabic being masculine...something relating to the right to left orientation with which it is read. Again, I’m leaving out a lot of details, but it was something I had never heard before.

As much as I love to read, it definitely is taxing on the eyes. I just got into audiobooks this year and really appreciate them.

yup

ultimately written language is not how we naturally deal with information

audiobooks are easier listening is much more natural than reading for us

Im a big fan of audio books. It's more relaxing to me. I tried reading before bed but it was uncomfortable, I had to have a light on, I'm damn near blind so I had to either wear my glasses or have the book right up on my face. It wasn't working for me.
Audio books work for me cause I could get comfortable, set a timer and listen til I fell asleep. It also benefits me cause I can take in a story while driving, cooking, cleaning etc. If I read I have to basically sit in one spot and have 0 distractions in order for me to soak in what I'm reading.
They got some dope narrators who do pretty good voices and really help get you into the story (shoutout to my nikka Scott Brick :salute:)

So I prefer audiobooks and this is coming from a person who hates to listen to people talk :pachaha:

Audio for me. I tend to get through books faster. I don't have to be stationary tcan listen while driving, walking, doing stuff around the crib etc.
I seem to retain more info through audio than by reading.

Reading. I'm mainly a fiction/fantasy guy, so I have my own concept of what characters sound like or how action is taking.

Audio Book can actually break a character for me, especially if they don't capture the essence of them.

Audiobooks are good for multitasking. Hard to get a lot of note-taking down though when you constantly have to pause/rewind. I use Audiobooks to relisten to books I already finished or things that will be mostly rehashing info I'm already familiar with.
