Are audio books better than actually reading?

Audio books can be good to get the gist of what it's about.

But there is not a lot more satisfying than reading an intense theology book, by a PhD professor, to me. Expanding the mind and vocabulary.

I enjoy physical books when reading, but a few of you have sold me on audiobooks. I already know which book will be my first, ‘Shantaram’ by Gregory David Roberts.
I feel a bit guilty already through, because I read about a quarter of ‘Shantaram’ and enjoyed it and I’d like to finish reading it as a books However, with the right narrator and the content I’ve read thus far, I think audiobook will be amazing.

physical definitely. the only time i can deal with audiobooks are when it's a biography or something super lighthearted.

when i read i like to reread a sentence or a paragraph over and over to fully grasp the concept. i might write a passage on a notecard or take a picture of it too. i like to really dive in to a book and live with it. with audio i can't fully immerse into the book

I get way more done with audiobooks. Can listen on the way to work and while I'm working if it's a menial task that I don't gotta use my brain for
