He’s being extra, but he has a point. It costs nothing to pay attention to your surroundings. People just be wandering around, oblivious to what’s going on around them.

A lot of these cyclists and moped riders are just as bad though. I see them do some really stupid shít on the road.

@Remote , i didn't know you were a new yorker :ohhh:

Still spreading that bike gospel i see :wow:
I work in the city but I live further out.

The bike lanes aren’t protected enough in nyc and I understand that guy’s frustration.

I wouldn’t handle it the way he does though.

You literally proved my point.

Why would I care about you being an "a$$hole"?

As I already stated, it's about the dangers bikers present to people on the road and how they need to be responsible for the accidents they cause.

I would have sued the brakes off of you for every dent, scratch or crack you caused if you had ended up on my back windshield or made sure my insurance company got their money back.

:yeshrug:

Respectfully

I caused zero damage. My bike got crunched.

Considering how many years I've biked in cities, and this being the only accident story I have should say something as well.

I hate bike lanes. I travelled via bike in Detroit throughout the entirety of 1996. I rode my bike as just another vehicle in traffic, and I was respected as such some of the time. I also made sure I was as visible as possible. Bike lanes create a second parallel lane of traffic, which just creates confusion, especially at intersections. As a driver, I find it harder to see riders in bike lanes due to all the pilons and there is definitely confusion at intersections where many riders assume they are not a part of traffic, but separate from it. As someone who would love to get my bike back on the road, I would be terrified to travel in a bike lane.

I doubt very seriously you caused ZERO damage. One slight crack in the paint can cause cracking throughout the paint that takes MONTHS to show how far the damage goes especially in a bumper.

Again, you're lucky you met a person too ignorant or lazy to know better. If it was me I'd have you paying for the whole back end.

I've seen many videos over the years of bicyclists acting like this in major cities. I wonder if it's all from the same dude.
