EDIT: I Singled these two out because they're having very good seasons this year -
this isn't to take anything away from Mookie Betts, Mcutchen, Khris Davis, Matt Kemp, Rajai Davis etc etc...
Just singled these two out because they were on TV when I made this post. :hubie:

Amir Garret is an early Rookie of the Year candidate for the horrible ass Reds

Probably not.

There are stars but I don't know that there's much indication that black kids in America are gravitating toward baseball again.

I'd love to see evidence showing otherwise though. Especially since MLB claims to be doing work to grow the game in minority areas.

Eric Thames is hitting like Barry Bonds right now. It's interesting how much the breaking stuff in Korea has forced him to be more selective. He's always had the power. But he doesn't chase bad pitches as much. And he's killing it right now. Also worth noting, they're testing the shyt out of Thames so far this season. No positive tests yet.

I'll give it another 3 weeks before considering Amir Garrett legit.

that RBI program has been going on for years...I don't know if it's working or not

they need to be pumping $$$$$ into inner city baseball programs, parks, facilities, equipment etc etc...

They don't let people do shyt.
In the early 90s a bunch of my friends used to get together to play baseball games and the park managers would come and kick us out. We would always hop the fence after they left but it was always a pain in the ass.

I imagine it's still the same in most areas.
Some cacs holding fields hostage because of "permits".

what's sad is that i follow a few black former MLB players on instagram

they'll post throwback pics and tag each other and talk about how "when brothas played the game"

sometimes they'll talk about how it'll never come back and now their kids play football/basketball and the interest just ain't there :mjcry:
