Real shyt. My best friend is from Baltimore, we both from the hood but now are working in corporate America. He doesn't fit in either now. I have dreads and a Louisiana accent so I'll always be hood like, but he's clean cut so he's not hood enough for the hood and not preppy enough for the corporate circle. So he and a lot brothers are lost.
those stats sound a little exaggerated. Especially with 80% of all black men going to jail in their lifetime and 60% of black men infected with an STD.
Best cities for us are ATL, DC, and Houston.

I'm totally comfortable admitting that we have shortcomings at Black men.
We've got to be more responsible. We've got to value education more. We've got to be fathers to the children we create. We've got to protect our women. The whole nine. Black men are out here saying the same things all the time. People like Farrakhan have been taking Black men to task for decades.
It's the Black woman who always wants to shift blame as if she's a child. Where is the Black woman's equivalent of Farrakhan taking Black women to task?
How? When? Where?
Americans are losing hope in general.

When more of our people started c00ning more.I'm saying when did black give up hope ?
When more of our people started c00ning more.
Its been less about the collective and more individualism for some time now.
Rap has also shifted in the mainstream to mainly feature gangsta shyt and not much conscious shyt and Im noticing less black men into black businesses these days.
Im doing what I can to get more brothers to rise up on my end but it will take a lot of work by many of us to get back on track.
Dude we have fallen since the days of Malcolm X and MLK. Thats just fact. Many of our people got comfortable and practice individualism which is why we had Morgan Freeman and Pharrel and Charles Barkley with this New Black crap and many others follow their c00ning.You're projecting your own views as fact. It is merely an opinion, you can't let a small portion speak for the majority.
Is black people are truly losing hope we would have let cruelty link the murder of Mike Brown & Trayvon Martin get swept under the rug.
Black businesses are on the rise. If you follow Black news or read Black Enterprise you'll see what we're achieving everyday. The progress may be small but it's progress nonetheless.
A lot of black people have become de sanitized to certain things, but that doesn't mean we've gave up hope.
It's sad you have lost hope in our people.
On the real...I think depression is just a major symptom of America; it has nothin to do with the quality of your life. I've been to places where the standard of living is much lower than it is here, but in some of those areas I've noticed that the people are collectively happy.
I believe a big part of this is the media in America. In this technology age we're in, the youth have been sold lies and dreams from a very young age. This has distorted their perception of reality on a deep psychological level. As they grow older into adults, the real begins to set in, and all the images they had of life begin to crash. At that point, they realize.......that 9-5 shyt isn't life brehs.
