Im in agreement with you.

But the masses of our people that go to these bigger churches that have the clout and their pastors going viral for them Charlie Kirk disses sounding like MLK are the same ones who tell my folks Mother they not gonna do her husband funeral because he missed 2 months of tithes after serving in that church for like 15 years...

Im not against God or even church but i gotta keep it a bean
Yea, you're right. There's definitely bad people in high places, whether they were always bad, or just tasted power and became bad. I've seen the result of church that my grandfather built, which was packed every Sunday, become this empty, almost abandoned building because of infidelity. Just want to let people know it happens to many, and at the end of the day people are still people, no matter how we label ourselves.

Remember, I classify as Christian, but like most of my people, we dont read

We just wanna hear what sounds good makes us feel good and says "hate the whitey"

Thats all good for some ppl but not me. I like history and research, you not just gonna tell me to beleive something. From what i read, the scriptures dont have nothing to do with white people lol - its all Middle East and Africa...and Ethopia had it like 1000 years before Europe...but just the white man made us believe, "everything comes from them"

And just like anything good, people gonna find ways to use it for themselves. What other than grandmas church :martin:

That Jamal Bryant dude in ATL is the number one false prophet in this area
You are showcasing the mental enslavement by your response.

You are genetically West African and your ancestors on the continental coast did not practice nor knew anything about Christianity until the emergence of the white man came to enslave those very same ancestors.

No matter what you will say in response to this, this is a fact ....you only know of Jesus because WHITE MEN said so.

Above the fray.
from another thread, Im in Baltimore a lot with community work

And I would 1000% use the word slavery when talking about how they be off the dope.

I been to alot of cities and aint never seen nothing like North Ave out here. I am experiencing something different. Ive seen gangs, shootings, drugs, crime, etc but every city has its "thing" - I aint never seen sooooo many people in mass like walking dead off the drugs like out in the street. its like a demonic force or something

You can be a slave to drugs, to porn to other things.

We have different views and standards about the word.
Addiction and substance abuse is terrible to witness up close. There are programs and medicine that can treat and help some addicts address, deal with, and conquer their addictions, and the personal problems that lead them to try drugs in the 1st place.

Permanent, hereditary, chattel slavery was exactly what it is described as. Lifelong torture and exploitation, followed by the same for your children and their children.

Many documented and undocumented revolts, many people escaped, some killed themselves. But for vast majority, enslavement was lifelong torture and exploitation, with the knowledge in your dying days, that your children would suffer the same fate.

Brother, respectfully, you can't tell me nothing about my background, my ancestors, my people or my religion that I do not already know.

You may THINK you know but you having been where I have been, learned what I have learned, spoken to who I have or even have the same family that I do.

I'm not going to hijack this thread, but a man from Libya took the gospel from the Middle East to the motherland before the New Testament was even written. One of of not the earliest church was in Ethiopia before Europe even knew the name. 600 years before.

600 year before 2025 would put you BEFORE the transatlantic slave trade, thats how long WE had the way (as it was originally called)

I take issue in my soul with black people who think white people gave them everything. Who say we are so powerful, so smart, so spiritual, so wonderfully made but in next breath a group of white men took us out a few bullets and guns for 600 years. Either the white man is god and we getting our asses kicked, or things aren't what they seem.

So don't tell me about MY ancestors, talk about YOURS.

You are purposely using the word "chattel" in front of slavery, and I am using the word slavery.

The word slavery means what it means, and youre adding a quallifier in front of it to make a point.

End of day, I don't know anyone in chains or on a plantation. But when I have to talk to 16 year olds that are in adult rehab they say they feel like the needle is their master and they are slaves. And apparently that is how it is described.

Semantics are cool for message boards, but Im still gonna use the word when appropriate. '

You said it yourself: "with the knowledge in your dying days, that your children would suffer the same fate." <-- thats exactly how many people that look like me describe their lives right now. And ain't seen nare a slave ship.

You say all that to still defend the religion of white supremacy. You can't see it due to your indoctrination.

You are not a serious person if you think that "chattel" is an added qualifier in a discussion in a thread with the title you gave this one.

The differences between the slavery that was practiced here, and through this hemisphere, and addiction/substance abuse is pretty clear cut in the last post. Deflection doesnt change that.

Again, what I hear with my ears and what you argue on a message board is two diff things.

If it makes you uncomfortbale, dont use the word.

When Im with the rehabbers, the gang members, the activists, the doctors, the community organizers etc, this is the word that kept coming up. I understand the context. I feel you are being disengienous a bit to make a point

Why do you hate your ancestors who had this religion before white men?

I should give up on the Creator of the universe because a white man used His words to enslave people and then our Black heroes used His words to force themselves free on then white mans land?

I don’t worship the white man
