Are blacks destined to be a permanent underclass

due to the rate of technology alone.
In the next 50 years we'll see a world totally alien because of genetic engineering and automation. Whites and Asians may continue to domimate the fields of STEM, which by then may be the only type of jobs available. Also the primary patrons for these technologies will be the elites. They will be able to manipulate their DNA, making them super human. I envision a world like Elysium where all of the rich benefit from technology and the poor are just left to rot and die.
With blacks being at the bottom of the socioeconomical totem pole how might we avoid this?

STEM shouldn't be some boogie man for black people to the point where we're being "dominated" out of a field. Im doing computer science right now and I feel I'm just as competent as anybody whether they be White , Asian, middle eastern, etc. Especially in the math classes
