I heard someone mention this once :ohhh:

Is this true :francis:

I don't really expect the casual consumer to shell out $1000s on a PC

The hardware was outdated when they dropped because this gen they weren't more powerful than PCs on release

But the concept of a console is not outdated because the PS4 and the Xbox are selling well

PC's graphics cards get more powerful like every 2 years, Consoles can't keep up but that doesn't mean they're outdated.

Graphics matter yea but gameplay is the most important and sitting on a PC playing by yourself with the most amazing graphics can't compare to sitting on the couch with a controller playing with other people

I've never been a PC player, but lets say you have people over how can you all play on a monitor? I have nothing against PC or anything, Consoles are just more convenient imo
Its easy to hook your pc up to your flat screen and play with controllers these days...

I do it with my asus rog all the time. Some one wanna get at me on mario kart, ssbm, mortal kombat x then I just hook my hdmi cable up from my laptop to the tv and bust out the controllers

I game more with my laptop than my consoles because its not bulky and easy to travel with (and I travel alot at that), I can play all of the new games maxed out, I don't have to worry about backwards compatibility and can play any games from previous generations (thanks to emulators). If anything consoles are trying to become more like PCs.

Though expensive now, multiple graphic card boxes are starting to show up, so laptop and/or tiny desktop gaming now has a chance to really take off. Could have one sitting at your tv and then drop your laptop in or a small form factor PC like a NUC and get a full gaming experience.

No.

Outdated would imply that they can't run modern AAA games. They can, and do a good job at it.

They just aren't as powerful as some over the available PC hardware.:manny:
Define "good job"

They can't hit 1080P60 consistently.

:what: so you're telling me that I don't have controllers for ps3, ps4, xbox one, xbox 360, and a steam controller, all WIRELESS, that I can sit on the couch with and play with other people on PC? Sit your ass down. People come to my house all the time and don't even know what "console" I'm playing on. Meanwhile most times it's the PC, on the 60" TV, from my damn couch. On top of that with Steam sharing I can just take a laptop to any room with a TV and stream my games anywhere in the house. Same goes for X1 streaming and PS4 streaming anywhere in the house where there's a computer

Neither can any PC without good hardware.
Plus it depends on what game you're talking about. Some games run 1080p60fps fine while others can't. You gotta put things into perspective.

I am and a $400-$500 built gaming PC can run most games after tweaking at 1080P60 with medium settings. Which is what the PS4/XBOX ONE generally aim for.
