The arguments are there because threads like these pop up.

Are consoles outdated? Of course they are. When asking the question you deserve the best and generally harshest answer. The answer is yes, consoles are ALWAYS outdated. Especially now when you consider that you are actually paying a PREMIUM to be ignorant or lazy. It is very very tough to recommend a console to people these days over a PC. Yeah the PC has it's headaches, but its worth the small issues IMO in order to game better.
you're on the internet. in real life the average person doesn't care about this "premium" price. You're literally assuming people go into best buy and gamestop to compare specs. Nobody cares about this shyt in the real world. When the average person think of games, they think of Nintendo, PS and Xbox not INTEL 5690X.

TYRONE GA!
i was talking with this dude at work about PC vs console gaming.
he thinks consoles are better.

i started talking resolution and fps's and he just :dwillhuh: at me.
he had know idea about any of it.

i just :beli: and walked away.

That's why many of us laugh at those thinking that the average console gamer gives a fukk.

The internet is a part of real life.

You deserve to be taken to the cleaners if you rather not do the research in anything you do. Just don't expect sympathetic responses when you have questions like this.

I know when to filter ignorance and complacent people. A person like the OP sounds complacent and not really serious. The type that'd buy a 360 with GTA V and think it looks no different than the current Gen ports. If you're asking this question, you have a lot to do. These people just latch onto buzzwords.

I don't think the console itself is outdated, just the life cycle.

I even had to check myself, when rumors first started about MSFT and Sony providing "refreshes" I was :snoop:

but then I was like, why? most other consumer electronics are on yearly refresh steeze. :yeshrug:

No the gaming community just needs to stop catering to these worthless casuals who only care about resolutions and frame rate while jumping over the millionth non innovative fps. At the same time the companies in charge need to stop trying to veer peoples minds off of the low level of currently available exclusives via this vr and upgradable console rage. Give us more great fukking games. All the rest of that shyt is secondary.

:what: so you're telling me that I don't have controllers for ps3, ps4, xbox one, xbox 360, and a steam controller, all WIRELESS, that I can sit on the couch with and play with other people on PC? Sit your ass down. People come to my house all the time and don't even know what "console" I'm playing on. Meanwhile most times it's the PC, on the 60" TV, from my damn couch. On top of that with Steam sharing I can just take a laptop to any room with a TV and stream my games anywhere in the house. Same goes for X1 streaming and PS4 streaming anywhere in the house where there's a computer

see I never heard of steam sharing and all that. I thought if you wanted to hook your PC up to the TV you have to move the entire thing over but your setup sounds real nice. How much did it cost to get a decent gaming PC?

and this is the reality of the topic. plus the general public is lazy when it comes to pc gaming, they just dont know or are afraid to tweak and assemble a pc

The average person doesn't feels like the improved graphics and frame rate specs provided by pc are marginal. The upgrade isn't worth the money or hassle to switch over, or they aren't going to be able to convince all of their friends who are more than happy with consoles to switch over for these marginal improvement.

I know you guys think 60fps and ultra high res graphics are the greatest thing ever but gaming PC's are a headache the average non tech does not want to deal with. PC gamers need to understand consoles will never go away

pc gaming is way more popular than console gaming so the general public does know how to tweak/assemble a pc

There are so many ways out there now. Wireless or wired display to the TV. It cost me $550 4 years ago and even when I'm ready to upgrade a gpu I flip the old one and add about $100 to it. That's really it and i run everything high-ultra settings 1080p 60fps

The "average person" has a gaming pc. It dwarfs the console space. I'm almost positive that steam usually has more people online playing than on PS4/XBOX ONE/Wii U online combined.

this is like saying I bet there more people with a 200X Civic than a 2013 civic.
