Most women have no preference on skin tone, just like men don't. They will date light, brown or dark if they find breh attractive.

Not true. We will date out of our preference but they have to make up for it somehow. But when we get our real flavor we try to hold on a little harder.

If you weren’t a darkskin breh in the 80s/90s
You wouldn’t understand :francis:
Even though women may like us more now and post I say ‘05
The darkness jokes don’t stop just like the lightskin jokes don’t stop
Colorism is only reserved for men and their preference
It doesn’t work the same way for women
I’ve got stories on this shyt but thecoli will only say I’m crying and Uh Unh that never happened

Every chick I messed with said they prefer dark skin men. Light skin and mixed chicks go crazy over dark skin dudes for some reason  had some white chicks I smashed say they prefer darker men.

Guess they run with the stereotype of light skin men being “soft” which is bs obviously.

On the flip side you’ll have chicks go crazy over light skin dudes.

Just gotta get in where you fit in :manny:

OP..

I never believed the whole dark skin is in hype...

I know from my personal experience that it certainly wasn't in growing up in the 80s where I grew up..

Even during the "Golden Era(late 80s-early 90s)" when music and culture celebrated pro-Blackness, I still never felt the love and desirability that ppl claimed existed for DS men.

Granted, some dudes got love and perhaps some to many found success or advantages but I think those successes and advantages had more to do with these men being successful or charismatic than their skin tone.

Maybe geography play a part. I suspect that on the East Coast, South and parts of the Midwest, DS dudes got love from some women, but on the West Coast, specifically Southern California?? Nah!

Seen too many DS dudes get more love from non-Blk women that their own women. I'm talking about non gang affiliated civilians as well as non athletes and entertainers. Just regular degular dudes..

Today?? I simply dismiss anyone who talk about DS is chic! Who cares!! Talking is cheap! I wanna see it before I believe it! *shrugs*

you realize women say shyt like this about EVERY man they are with

when they like you "xyz is so great about you 🥰"
and when its over its over

Cassie and the rest of them hoes told Diddy they loved freakoffs when they were with him

my point is...
getting high off what a bih tells you is a sign of weakness

it doesnt matter

Seems a lot of older women over 27 switch to Darker. As if they had bad experience or something
I think age is a component
It seems like young women like the Odell Beckham Chris Brown types but over a certain age it's all about being tall and dark
When I saw Johnathon Majors become a sex symbol I knew it was up for any man with a darker complexion + height/muscles

As a young teen when I would hear the topic of light skin and dark skin I couldn't help but think of it as a form of white supremacy.

Dudes saying the prefer light skinned women. Women saying they prefer light skinned men. It all points to white supremacy being correct on that white skin is right.

Dark skin was never in style. Black women are just as colorist as men are. When you see them praise dark-skinned men, it’s often rooted in the Black brute stereotype.

Those women like dark skin because it's precieved as dangerous, not attractive.

Coded language like “mixed with a little ugly” exposes them.

Men absolutely do have skin tone preferences. Every black man I know who likes light brights sticks with them, or white women. Even most white men who like black women prefer chocolate women. You rarely see light skin black women with white men unless they are biracial, usually with a white father.
