We also had to slap box every friday after school. nikkas would make a fist then open it at the last moment to pop a nikka. (That was lowkey cheating) Slap a nikka so hard his legs would lift of the ground.

Fair ones died out when cameras on phones were able to record for longer than 10 seconds. No one wanted to end up on worldstar so mandem escalated how they deal with beef. Some people still fight one on one but everyone is so quick to pull out their phones that the police don’t even need to obtain CCTV footage anymore. It’s much easier to catch a case in 2019

Fighting was a game we played when I was little

Me and my next door neighbor would practice throwing lame slaps and countering.

But we did it because it was the "cool" way to settle differences. Fighting for your safety is something completely different.

All it takes is for you to see a nikka get BEAT once for you to say "that's never happening to me" and you carry a pistol after that.

And I'm not talking about getting jumped. I mean getting stomped until you leave a puddle beat.

Of course the friendly fade still exist. People always act like their era was extra honorable or some shyt. nikkas was jumping nikkas and popping they ass when came up too. I wish a nikka would be fighting my homeboy and I’m just standing there. I don’t give a fukk of my nikka is winning, I’m jumping in that bytch. That’s why nikkas used to bring a partna or older cousin or some shyt when they had to go fight in another nikkas hood or on their block - so they wouldn’t get jumped. And it’s been plenty occasions where someone lost the fair one and came back with a pistol and everyone had to scramble up outta there. So ain’t shyt going on new. I had so many fights I can't remember them all. It defo helps you into manhood, being able to take an L and move on. Its a whoooole lot of kids today who have literally never lost at anything except Call of Duty and they don't know how to deal with it.

But like I said when that turns into nikkas trying to take your shoes, or get you kicked off the team (they know you can't fight back), or trying to harm you just because, then it gets dangerous.

When you have something to lose and you just want to mind yours, the shyt gets old.
