All of that changes when talking about how most people play console games. Sitting back on the couch resolution differences are not very noticeable if at all(I've done the experiments myself) but differences in textures/lighting are.

I think that's why we've seen Xbox one devs shoot for better textures/lighting at the expense of resolution.

We're talking about the maximum graphical ability of the game, not the price of the hardware, friend. The game is best on PC.

what? it's mostly the same games. all the typical multiplatform games, including backwards compatibility with previous gen games. plus Titanfall, Warframe, Project Spark, Blacklight Retribution, Don't Starve, and other so called "console exclusives" are all on PC (and many were on PC first). plus Rust, DayZ, and other sandbox games. plus Dota 2, LoL, and other MOBA's. plus RTS, MMO's, etc

it's just more games, period

the PC doesn't really have "exclusives" because PC isn't a company that can put money in a hat. if a game is only on PC, it's because the PC is an open platform, and/or the game just doesn't work well with a controller

I don't know what's going on with the PC version of GTA5, so I can't answer that question

but I could just as easily ask why it's taking so long to get Planetside 2 (a SOE game) on the PS4

or what's taking so long with the 360 version of Titanfall

they're just anecdotal examples, and those companies made those decisions for various reasons. plenty of games, including some I already mentioned, come out first on PC. and plenty drop on multiple platforms on the same day. porting between the 3 platforms should be easier now since the PS4 and X1 are x86

yeah, Planetside 2, a Sony Online Entertainment game for the PC. it was supposed to be ready for the PS4 'launch window', but there's still no confirmation when it will make it. seems relevant to other games that are stuck in port-limbo. although the PC version of GTA5 has never even been officially confirmed, so I can't even say for sure that porting issues are holding up that game
