No they have not. There are plenty of games that did a good job with diversity this gen. There's nothing wrong with advocating for more.

A handful is more than the past and evidence that more can be had. If you keep buying the games without speaking out your telling them that you don't want the change.
resident evil 5 really had no choice, they had to put a black character to counter act all the convenient racism. i forgot about left 4 dead and crackdown though
once again, devs understand people of color AND women want to be represented more in games. they are 100% fully aware. but just like hollywood, they DONT give a shyt. once again, answer, why would white men put THEIR best collective interest aside, just to look out for us?

Once again devs are putting more women and people of color in games. And it's because the community is asking for it. It's not just black people asking for diversity, it's white people too. It's not just females asking to be in games, men want them in too.
The best collective interest of the devs is to make a good game that people want to buy. If the community tells them that people want minorities/women in games then they will put them in.

I can name plenty of games that allow for you to customize your character.
It's not about shoehorning a bunch of black folks into a game. I have no problem with a game taking a certain point in history and telling a story about it like Ryse. It would be stupid if the main character where black. But I do have a problem when games just pretend that black people don't exists, or if they do they have to be a stereotype.
Once again, advocating a company to consider your needs is not bytching. And I'm not the one taking the "black people are on their own" there is nothing wrong with purchasing a game without black characters, and there is nothing wrong with advocating more black characters.

and once again, they've considered your needs. blacks gotta realize our only bargaining chip is our money -- but that alone is useless. if we came to the table and said, if you dont put us in these games, we'll go support x,y,z, we'd have a plan. but we dont have x,y,z to support. until that gets built, we have no choice but to beg, whine, complain -- then eventually purchase whatever they shyt out regardless.

No. That's what happens when you don't advocate for change. Deus EX had a very racist character in it and the communty made it well know to the devs. They apologized and pledged to fix it in further installments.

We've already established that this gen was more diverse than the last. That trend will continue.
