I pay $40. There was a point in time where I was paying $50, I’ll say that’s a lot because I get my lox retaliated for the same price ($100 at most). The barbers at the $50 spot started falling off bad and the only reason I went primarily was the free alcohol they served. Then I found a Dominican who was a really exceptional barber($30), however he had one major deal breaker flaw so I dropped him and just stay loyal to the $40 barber who has been cutting my hair basically my whole life (cousin)

Ain't no way I'd pay that. My hair grows back in 3 days. 40 for a cut is more than braids. Braids they'll wash and blow dry your hair.

My hair grew fast during the pandemic so I'm back to getting braids

They'll last for 2 weeks or more. A haircut last maybe a week. 40 times 4

I'd have to learn to cut my own hair.

Its beauticians and hair dressers doing real styles with hair like locs, twist, etc for hours and they charging $70-80 but these barbers done fooled you into thinking cutting some stray hairs and doing basic fades for 15 mins is worth $50
