We would have expelled the British out of India by 1922 if it weren't for Gandhi's arrogant, self-centred ass. Having to wait 25 years longer just because one man was so arrogant that he could not stand that others were violently attacking and killing British men in India while claiming to be his followers. That just shows Gandhi cared more about his own rep than he cared about what was good for India.

That doesn't mean shyt man. America has Thomas Jefferson on the $2 and Abraham Lincoln on the $5, both of them were racists too. Plus, getting capped has a way of making people idealised you and forget about all the mistakes you made and the fukked up things you did. Gandhi got assassinated and his image became a brave martyr who died for mother India same dude in the '20s called off a violent revolution in the making because he couldn't stand to have his name associated with it. He went on a hunger strike and threatened to die if the rebels didn't back off, and he had a lot of influence and power. People loved him, they didn't want to see him go out like that.

I guarantee nobody would care about Gandhi today if he died in that hunger strike and the revolt carried on. Independence is more important than one man's reputation as a pacifist. We would have sonned those cacs 400 million of us and a few thousand of them! Britain was in no shape to fight a war in India neither, they were totally fukked from WW1. It would have been easy. All Gandhi had to do was swallow his pride for the good of the nation. But he wouldn't do it.
