This.

Except I think it applies to those not addicted as well, people create personalities behind these screen names and start to believe them, the more attached or intricate they are the more psychological damage has been done, I've belonged to dozens of message boards over the years and there's always couple which stand out and they always get outted

Here we had (with out mentioning names)

-froggy breh
-cuckold breh
-podcast breh

All very attached to there gimics all with very high post counts.

Those are just the top ones, I've said it before never been on a board with so many obvious weirdos before
Exactly, brother. These message boards can be positive but if you get too attached to them it can lead you to a very dark path depending on the content that is posted on these websites. i mean it is a good way to vent but overall, it will somewhat make your life more miserable.

It can be when you get too invested (cyber bullied and always defending yourself, always in beefs, always - likely daily- reading negative/hateful things about someone described as you esp if its something you can't help/change.)
So I be getting cyber bullied on this shyt? :ohhh: At the end of the day everyone on messageboards are strangers and as long as you don't give them personal information for them to research and ruin your life this shyt is just shyts and giggles.

Well in real life, I'm an extremely shy person and i don't really talk an awful lot.

I know it's because I had problems with communication almost my whole life (which I'm not going to name). I don't really wanna talk about it anymore tho.

I'm much more outgoing on rap forums like these. Is this a bad thing?:lupe:

Very damaging.

It's a guilty pleasure. everyone escapes some more than others. Real social media is likely healthier because it's limited and had its own checks and balances being that ppl know you.

I'm a huge escapist and have issues with focus. While I'm 100% the same here as in real life, I spend way too much time browsing and reading rather than being productive when I'm bored Gonna take a long break soon.

Same. :mjcry: Have you found any good ways to curb it. My life has progressed very slow and this is my biggest issue.

Nah, not for me....but for many, I am sure it's an unhealthy extension of an already dysfunctional personality, or tendencies. I love spending my hour or so (or more) reading about what I love, rap/hip hop culture, movies, and TV current events, and politics. I can't just wake up and read and respond to topics I am passionate about with this forum, I don't go to school....I don't teach... I can offer opinions, critiques, and interact in an intelligent manner, which isn't always happening offline, in such an accessible way....my closest homies aren't going to be able to have an in depth conversation about the latest political development, or 'The Night Of', or PartyNExtDoor's new shyt, or the last date you went in.....Going in depth on subjects like the last album you loved, or a movie you hated, a date from last week is helpful for perspective, analysis, and pure entertainment. I'll post reviews and opinions that help formulate my own thoughts and beliefs, it's all very healthy....overindulge sometimes, of course. Like it's 12:48, I am done.
