Mitchell and Ness doesn't own any licensing for current players or teams.

But they do have licensing for throwbacks from the NFL and NBA. So their throwback unis are in fact authentic, but they are authentic throwbacks.

Not to be confused with actual authentic NBA jerseys from 1994, which were licensed to whoever purchased the apparel rights at the time.

Yeah, it's a real niche market.

They basically make all their money off people longing for nostalgia.

Any current jersey purchase goes to Nike (NFL), Adidas (NBA), Reebok (NHL), or Majestic (MLB).

Throwbacks go to either the league itself or a company like Mitchell and Ness who purchases older licenses, from what I understand.
