No they’re not the same.

A simp is someone who gives attention to a woman who doesn’t reciprocate it. Buying her gifts, giving her money, flying her out etc and he gets nothing in return.

A pick me is simply any woman that takes the man’s side in any situation. If women are mostly saying that they won’t go to the Cheesecake Factory on a first date, and a woman says she don’t mind going there, then she’s a pick me.

I think at their core they mean similar concepts (being a doormat to a partner) but the rhetoric and usage has diverged.

I think "pick me" is more provocative and I see primarily used on Black women who give any support or defense to Black men in these dumb gender wars. It almost implies in its extreme that women that do anything to be accommodating or attractive to men are losers.

Simp was originally basically a weak man in a relationship but it is morphing into the old White Knight term that got thrown around for decades on the Net to insult people that defended women in debates.

The big difference is I generally don't see 'simp' solely directed towards Black men who like or defend Black women whereas pick me is almost always directed at Black women who like Black men.

I have seen many people roast simps for non-Black women as c00ns. Never seen gender warriors roast Black women as pick me for White men.

Pick me isn't solely directed at black women and I think "Just Pearly Things" is the most popular one.

I agree with your other points though

Lol. You're not going to get an honest answer on TLR. They're the same thing. Women who put down other women for male attention and cape for bad behavior from men are just as negative as simps
That's not a pick me, that some other shyt that needs it own term and explanation

That Kevin Samuels protégé, Melanie King is a pick me also. She ain’t no where near as bad as JPT though...

After looking more into JPT, not only do I not believe she believes the things she says, I truly think it's just rebelling against her parents. Her mom is an accomplished CEO. There's absolutely no way she believes the shyt she says.

I legit can't fathom how people fall for these internet personalities rhetoric when you simply scratch the surface on their origins.

Nope. Never heard of a pick me giving a man her entire check. I have however heard of simps doing this. Men take things to another level.
You never heard of single moms doing anything to keep a man? Even covering up molestation of their kids? What about women letting their men drive their car, eat they food and live in their house without contributing?

I've never heard anyone ever call a woman in that situation a "pick me".

Outside of "molestation of the children" (which is weird that that's where your mind went on this topic), those other things are so common that that would mean that the majority of women are "pick me's"

They're called pick me's all the time. Nothing can top allowing abuse of your kids for attention of the opposite sex. Idk about the second sentence. Probably in the hood.

In theory yes, in practice no. The example used for simps involve egregious behavior, but pick me's are basically women that hold women accountable. A woman saying not all men are bad is considered a pick me.:mjlol:

I've heard those types of women get talked about my entire life and I've never seen anyone refer to them by the term "pick me".
