Are Puerto Ricans the only Latinos that UNDERSTAND the African American struggle?

What I wanna know is

After this thread has been made a million times

Do AA’s een care if we (PR/DR/Cubans) the ones that are black; actually say we are black? Does it matter?

I dont see the point of these threads. Some people will forever stay lost so let em

They don't care if you identify as Black or not they still will find something to complain.

What do you mean? They have a significant population in the tristate and lived in that part of the USA longer than any other area. And iirc BX always had a larger PR population than AA.

Ignore that comment, I read your post wrong.

It's because some of us wanna spread the misery of being AA to everyone else and hate the fact that some random Latino that looks like us but speak Spanish think they are hot shyt cause their hair curls different

And my thing is...the average brown or Black Dominican or Puerto Rican or Panamanian or whatever is worse off than the average AA and that ain't no diss...I am just saying

Everybody gonna get their wake up call

That skin tone and hair texture shyt don't work over here like that...

A lot of us are colorstruck and hung up on exoticals and shyt...

That shyt shouldn't carry any weight in 2018...

I really don't give a fukk to claim everyone...if you know you know

People gonna think from the way I write, that I dont fukk with dominicans nor PRs.

That is far from it, I grew up around PRs and ive had great times living in DR around wonderful locals. Im 50/50 with PRs, as far as getting along and ive had 2 exs in my life. Got nothing but love.

With all of that said, from my time living in Latin America, I learned some Spanish and the attitudes collectively for some Ricans and Dominicans are suspect. I dont know if yall caught in 2 minds, but yall dont have the same collective attitude or energy as panamanians or cubans or even a Guyanese coolie.

Dominicans and Puerto ricans just feel like South Americans to us. Yall have many Carribean people in the country, especially on the coasts. You are probably one of those people. However, the majority in the countries are closer related to Mexicans and Argentineans and Chileans, etc,. Than Carribeans.

Belize for example is clearly culturally and sociopolitically Caribbean, but Honduras is nearby and they and Guatemala are not Carribean people, even though honduras has mad carribean people on the north coast, the majority and the country aint Caribbean.

Bro we're caribbean like any other island folks in the caribbean sea but we're not west/french indian so may be that's why you don't see us as one of your carib brehs. We are culturally closer to our island brehs than to mexico ,central america (excluding panama) and south america (excluding the caribbean coast of venezuela and colombia). Just because we all speak the same language that doesn't mean we fukk with them. and we sure ain't close with them Argentineans folks who doesn't considered themselves as south american or latino but european cacs :russ:. DR PR and Cuba are your caribbean brehs:ufdup:.

White Puerto Ricans have been counted as white since the 1800s

The black ones are the minority and y’all just can’t accept that.

Puerto Rico is not a African dominated island like Haiti and y’all can’t accept the truth.

Puerto Ricans on average are 25% African based ob multiple studies. And Puerto Rico DOES have a significant African descent population on the island.

Do you have stats of their Demographics.

25% is quadroon not black.

Puerto Rico Demographics Profile 2018

Ethnic groups white 75.8%, black/African American 12.4%, other 8.5% (includes American Indian, Alaskan Native, Native Hawaiian, other Pacific Islander, and others), mixed 3.3%
note: 99% of the population is Latino (2010 est.)

I don't believe in the American one drop rule and claiming of mulatto people as black. I accept that mixed race people can feel more culturally attuned to black culture but that doesn't make them black to me.

My mom is lighter skinned, but some of these people that are being claimed are virtually white people.

I am not trying to diss you BTW but my initial comment was based on these posts:

Lol okay stalker

I've been to the Puerto Rican day parade a couple years straight in New york, had Puerto Rican exes, my best friends are Puerto rican, I've been to hundreds of Puerto Rican functions through my friendship with em. There is a clear difference and divide. Never have I seen a Marc Anthony looking person claim blackness even if they have a mixed race parent but I have known Puerto Ricans that won't fukk with a woman because she's had sexual relations with black men.

White ricans see it moreso "my cousin is cool, even though they afro Puerto Rican, but the rest of y'all :mjpls:"

There are afro Puerto Ricans that claim their African heritage but it's not as abundantly as OP makes it out to be.

What ethnicity are you?

I don’t consider that black. If that’s case than us African Americans are white.

@Every Moment... Older told me about Slick racist stuff Puerto Rican’s in the Northeast say about black people behind their backs.

Calling black people monkeys and stuff. Hell naw man
