You don't necessarily have to be from the "hood" to struggle you can still be an orphan who's grandparents have sent you to a great school and live in a decent neighbourhood and get educated instead of selling dope. The struggle is the loss of both parents in exceptional circumstances. Or being in a coma for a few months.
The best stories do come from difficult lives but at the same time some of these rappers who grew up in these places also paint fantasy pictures of Mafioso life styles which are also entertaining but far from keeping it real. The worst revolve around recycling the same shyt acting bytch made and always being in the club or doing drugs or both. One or two club songs are cool but don't make your whole Album like that.
