Them coming through and crushing the cultural buildings was one of the biggest upsets in modern history. Japan was firmly in control of the Asian market with anime and J-Rock. Korea came through and swept most of their market influence aside in a few years. Even in Japan the overwhelming majority of kids are following Korean fashion trends. When I was here in 2014 or so everyone was into smart European dress styles with the dyed anime hair. Now it’s all baggy jeans, hoodies, bowl cuts, and Jordan’s. Hell even the Japanese government is supposed to be hateful of Korea and Koreans yet come to find out they are being controlled by a Korean religious cult

Japan still has anime and it’s still more popular than ever but it’s still a medium e targeted towards children so you know they are hot that the mature artistically significant content is being produced by their rival. Ojiisans and
Obachan watching K dramas. The ancestors have to be sick.
This is also something the Chinese don’t understand, you get a lot further against your enemies with soft power than hard power.
