I think they been doing an alright job with stables currently, you need stables, The E is just fukking it up as usual.

The Shield was one of the reasons I started watching again...I didn't watch during the SES storyline but they looked dope, The Wyatt family was dope also.

New Day is something. :manny:

I think that's more a reflection of there not being a black power stable in wrestling, ever. Otherwise, basically the same setup. You had the top dog, you had the ace, and you had the goons. I'm sure the "usurper" angle with the Rock wasn't unique, though they did it well.

And the most unique part of the Nation -- the all-black militant heel aspect -- has since been cloned repeatedly.

man the nation of domination was a clone of da gangstas in SMW.

they even plucked d'lo brown from da gangstas.

For every one saying the evil authority figure is a tired trope, I know it feels that way because we have been watching it since Austin vs McMahon.

i think you mean we've been watching it since bischoff/nwo.

I never saw Bischoff as an authority figure. He was technically in charge but always seemed like he was an Nwo groupie/lackey to me. But you are right they did it first.

i remember hearing that the way it came across on tv was the way it was behind the scenes too. teaching the boss how to be cool.

but yea, nwo did it first - in america at least.
