Optimistic But I Got Hands Tho
I'm just asking the question.
They look good right now.

@Primetime21 got it like I live in Raleigh or something.

As I write this the Charlotte Hornets (a 48-win team last season) are leading the Indiana Pacers by 20 points at halftime by a score of 75-55.

4-1, the Hornets have played the Bucks, Heat, Celtics, Sixers, and Nets.

So what do you say? Have the Hornets taken the next step as a basketball team or is this just a lucky stretch of wins against bad competition?

:jbhmm:
Every Pacers loss this year has been a blowout. They suck. They suck. They suck. And I blame Nate McMillan and Larry Bird.

I mean, I'll keep it real. Beating the Pacers isn't an achievement, its just a testament to even decent team defense.

None of their pieces fit, and most of their best players are natural ballhogs. There was a chance they could've played together, but not with a guy like Nate.

Watching the games makes me feel like we're about to lose everybody and start rebuilding. It's a shyt show.

:scust: at this thread. Throw this shyt in the bushes. We don't need the attention and it's too early to tell.

Low key tho injuries are starting to pile up and our bench ain't built for that circumstance long term.

Have some pride and dignity.

:scust:

You should be happy for some attention.
How long you gonna live in the glory of Mugsy and Dell?

Who said I wasn't proud of the squad :what:

Its just I've seen this story before. We don't need this attention, we better low key. Plus we need at least a 20 game sampler before we start making threads like this. But if we can't stay healthy it's going to be another long season.

The MKG effect. Most impactful defensive wing in the league. :banderas:

It ain't just MKG. The Hornets guards as a whole are defending ball-screens well but they haven't faced many good PGs so far (Isaiah Thomas and Goran Dragic). Thomas had a good game whereas Dragic struggled. Giving up only 0.66 points per play to opposing ball-handlers using ball screens puts them at the top of that category.

Why is Indiana so ass? I had them as the 2nd seed this year.

Team looks good on paper but it's a team where the pieces don't fit and was assembled with players they found in the clearance section. You can't have a backcourt like Teague and Ellis in today's league because both need the ball, can't play off each other and can't seem to stop anyone. It's ironic they got rid of George Hill who was a better fit with Ellis offensively and defensively (went from +1.9 last season to -3.8 this season with Teague).

It ain't that bad bruh. All the Pacers gotta do is get a new backcourt that fits and a new coach. That means you can't have both guards being high usage ballhogs that can't play off each other. Turner/Young/George is a good start up front. Teague don't fit. Not sure what they can get for him at the deadline given his FA status and his overall decline in play. Ellis you gotta move or have him come off the bench in a 6th man role.
