What were we trading for Pau that the Lakers wanted? We tried to sign him outright & he decided he was concerned with the "cultural diversity".

How does this happen every year that people get shocked we didn't go all out in free agency?

A first round pick and Perry Jones probably would have gotten it done. OKC didn't want to pay that luxury tax though.

"Cultural diversity" is code for "they weren't offering me enough." There's no way OKC was offering the money Chicago did and he can still compete for a title with the Bulls. If the Thunder woulda amnestied Perk and made some minor moves to clear space like trading Collison and Thabeet, Pau would have signed with them in free agency. You guys don't want to admit it, but your ownership is dogshyt and has no interest in going the extra mile.

pau would've been AMAZING for okc. he could do so much for their offense...plus, despite his rep as soft and weak and all that, he's still a better defender/rebounder than perkins is now. so when i first heard that rumor i was like
