The overall cost of living is cheap but you’re going to elite schools that will set them up to go to college in the states.

If you don’t care about that meaning you expect that your kid might want to be a full citizen of the country you’re going on or you want to save some coin in the short term just send them to a regular Private school without the international aspect.

What International Means is SAT prep or whatever standard is required of a euro school for example there’s a German International school in my town obviously that is set up for someone who is thinking of going to Heidelberg so they’ll need to speak German and have German style classes so they could take their College enterance exam.

But going to Nursery school doesn’t really require taking the kid to an International nursery ( again there’s english nursery schools near me) but you don’t even need International style courses until High school If the kid has the basics down pat.

Your immediate concern is having access to the best pediatric care that you can get.

Agreed.

Thank you. I'll definitely pick your brain going forward.

The international school prices are crazy, right? The schools I looked at are shytting on many colleges with their fees.:wow:
I think I’m lucky in Japan. Everything is under 1K per month. Only the base wants 2K+ a month.
:mjlol:
My 2 year olds day care is 900 a month. Japan we will be paying 500 a month.
:wow:

I know 4 people over all and 2 I know well. One of those people wants me work with him if I move but it be a risk because it's entrepreneurial and eating what you kill is sexy until you have a kid who can't eat "I tried". Honestly the front runner in my mind is PC and if I buck on Johannesburg PC will be her choice too, so that's where my focus is gonna mostly be but I'm still putting my feet down everywhere before choosing.

2030-31 is way longer than I wanted but you really made me think with that health care line. Safety and development of our kid is paramount.

The more answers that come to this thread the more I get her hesitation.:russ:

We're still getting out of here though.

She got pregnant because we both wanted to start a family. Granted her getting pregnant immediately after getting off birth control was unexpected.:pachaha:
The day my Wife said yes to her club getting shot up….
Baby number one.
:russ:
The second one took a month of the club getting shot up.
:russ:
My swimmers WERE strong.
:salute:
They are dead now.

The Truth
The places we narrowed it down to are Johannesburg, Accra and Panama City. Before she got pregnant we were going to visit all the places by the end of next year. She can teach English and she's done it before in Seoul. I can get a job in Accra and Panama City. I have friends in Accra too but she's not too fond of the idea of it but agreed to have it on the list just because of my connections to it. With Panama City I would have to change companies and then transfer to PC and I'm already speaking to recruiters there and could be st the new job in a month if I wanted. Johannesburg is more difficult. She could still get a job with her experience but I would have to figure it out and I most definitely would before I made a move I just haven't looked into it because Johannesburg is the place I'm just tolerating the possibility on the list. She has make believe online friends she talks to regularly but she's never met in person who live there though.

I mentioned the options above. As far as our kids learning about AA history, we'll handle that. We're already building a at home curriculum. We won't just be handing our babies over to strangers and crossing our fingers about them learning what we think they need to know. Also, thats a great idea about the book club/books. What made you passionate about that?
I would definitely consider going to a place where you got REAL, tangible connections compared to somewhere because you know of some people online :francis:

In a same predicament. I am trying to find the first thing out of the states and intend on staying abroad until the end of my days. I'm going to Japan.

We both love Japan and that would be the place we would try to move but we don't want our babies growing up in a place where they don't see themselves often.

And not to mention the visa situation seems like hella hoops.

Oh, agreed. That's going to be my argument when she brings that Joburg shyt up. I'll wait until until we check it out but I'm sure we'll be going to PC.

I don’t want to tell you what to do as I don’t know your exact situation. But again I stress especially for a newborn that the overall healthcare system in your area is paramount Ghana is getting out of a Major recession they had a cardiologist return after working in the UK for years and it was front page news.

It’s unlikely that your child will need a cardiologist but I will say South Africa has many fine cardilogists

But so does Panama and in all three places you got people that look like you.

Overall best hospital in Latin America is in Bogota.

Which hospital? Were not looking at Colombia but I'm just curious because all I see is a top rated eye care facility.

The top general hospital honors seem to go to Brazil twice over. At least in my cursory glance.

This is how I see it man. America is one of the wickedest if not the most wicked nation around. I'd rather my babies not see too many of themselves but can navigate through life in relative peace than keep them here and possibly have someone calling my kid the n word or worse and she gets paid a milly afterwards.
