Been following this story for the past 2 years (because I’m interested in working in film so there’s a lot of insights on the channels I watch)

This was a big deal because Disney had been getting panned for ruining projects for “DEI” initiatives they been wanting to push for awhile

Honestly the whole anti-DEI thing started in film & youtube (like memes and ******) and trickled to society that’s why we have a big disconnect

Even I was against it (look at the big South Park episode about this) because what Hollywood started doing was taking films, making them shytty but inserting *black or *gay or *women etc instead of organically making great films with a diverse cast it’s like make any old crap (or in Disney case remake something) and just throw a minority in and say it’s great (pandering and pandering is mad disrespectful)

There’s a difference between Black Panther & Captain Marvel but if you say something bad about the latter “you’re sexist racist etc” when most functioning fans like BP because it was organically set in where it was and not shoehorned in “to be Black” which is corny

So when Snow White was announced they replaced the dwarves with “diverse ppl” (google it it’s the goofiest thing you ever seen) and then got flack so made CGI instead of hiring real actors, hired Rachel and she immediately started talking down on the film (lots of ppl childhood fav) saying whoever liked it was x y z and saying her male costar could get edited out of the film because “it’s Hollywood baby no one needs men etc)

Just a lot of that privileged high Hollywood “we know better than you because we are smart and cultured and we loves trans” that has trickled to why you see ppl as anti-liberal to the point like a Trump can be Pres and ppl from all races and cultures have voted for an orange idiot

So then the film is bad, the lead star is insufferable on a global scale (apparently even Latinos do not like some things she has said say maybe she’s a c00n in their eyes) and it’s the worst disaster Disney ever created financially and…here we are

South Park kinda predicts these things / flushes them out into the world like they did with Scientology

From what I've seen, not even close to the same level. And, it's obvious why a good portion of those that "hated" or shyt on the Little Mermaid was. It was obviously because she was black, and not because they disliked her.

For Snow White, this chick hasn't shut up since the beginning shytting on the movie and thinking she's a main draw and that people want to see her specifically. It seems like it's been a disaster from the beginning. She comes across and arrogant and wants to act holier than thou. People that are brining their children and grandchildren to the movies likely grew up watching the original. Then you also have the aspect of Gal Gadot being Jewish and Rachel Zegler having to keep mentioning Palestine and saying that the world is over because Trump was elected. She can feel however she wants, but sometimes it's better to just shut up when there is this much money on the line. It's obviously been a flop and a PR disaster.

I'm a CAC because I am sick of tired and disgusted of Hollyweird thinking respecting US (along with other cultures, genders etc) means throwing people that look like me into BS movies and stories is the wave?

AGAIN I mentioned Black Panther as a all black superhero movie but it had a real CANON story, character development, great acting, great visuals, great lore, etc. CAPTAIN MARVEL 2 (about a WHITE WOMAN) was TRASH not because of the diverse cast and woman superhero but because it was made for that reason, not to further a needed story

We didn't need a BLACK LITTLE MERMAID. It's a GERMAN STORY, and that is LAZY AF.

Where is the story of Mami Wata the Nigerian water deity often depicted as a beautiful woman with the lower body of a fish or serpent that fell in love with a human? Why fake a German story (that was new to me when I saw it as a kid so no excuse about we knew who she was) instead of telling any of the 5000000 never before seen sstories from around the world yet to come?

Becuase they are lazy and think you and me are idiots who only care about SKIN and not RESPECT

Not really, by being part of the movie she could had hoped to change somethings about the story (and maybe suceeded, I haven't watch it and probably never will) or maybe she realized hey now that I'm part of this my opinion will carry more weight, which it did.

But at the end of the day she is just someone doing the job she was hired to do and you can be a fan of something an still be critical of some aspects of it, hell the whole thing its really about her support for Gaza anyway.

But yeah, not shytting on someone for doing her job or for having opinions that honestly shouldn't be consided controversial, I don't think I have ever seen any of her work but rooting for her just because of the scum that its attacking her.

So does this mean that you would sign on to act in a "Gone With The Wind" remake, thinking that you could "change" the source material?

- remakes are lazy

- Rachel comes off as unlikable + shyts on original source material

There was a LOT of heat on Little Mermaid and literally every youtube profile linked in the OP made negative videos on it for months.

My issue with Zegler is that she took the role and immediately shat on the original story/movie publicly. This constantly happens when franchise tv/films hire someone who wants the world to know they never watched the original or didn't like it or think it needs to be updated for xyz modern sentiments. No one wants to hear that shyt, it immediately triggers the right wing losers, etc yet these actors (and writers) keep doing it. She also shat on one of his co-stars, the guy who plays the prince, by basically saying "we don't need a prince." Like...what are you doing. It's Snow White lol.

I'm starting to think that studios want this BTW. They want this nonstop negative engagement because they think it'll work like Star Wars: the trolls attack something so people come to its defense and suddenly you're making money while dominating online discourse too. But Snow White isn't Star Wars. And even that Star Wars thing doesn't seem to replicate....the shows are getting less popular, not more.
