Let me first say that I acknowledge that systemic racism exists and that black men and women often get harsher punishments for committing the same crimes as our white counterparts. With that being said, is bringing up white people who commit similar crimes when one of us is in the hot seat a form of deflection or not holding our own accountable?

Exactly but you see this type of deflecting alot especially with these Jussie and R'kelly situations.
