Are timeshares scams ?

I wouldn't say that they are scams... But they certainty don't appear to be worth it.

Paying monthly payments to go on a vacation at limited locations... Plus the shyt is difficult to get out of, also you have to continue to pay fees and shyt even after you pay it off..

Nah, I'm good. I'd just rather vacation where/when we want without having to buy in to shyt.

they are such huge scams that there are entire business models specifically created for the sole purpose of getting rid of timeshares. Go on amazon or ebay and look at people selling properties for 1 got damn dollar. Not only that, they will pay YOUR FEES for the transaction which is easily 500 bucks. They are paying YOU 500 dollars to legally take their property off their hands because they can't stand being fleeced every month. The points have a spend cap so even if you buy TONS OF POINTS, you can't use but X amount a year which is usually less then the points they give u.

Just like MLMs, they are not scams per se, but they are horrible investments and you should stay far away from them.

Like others have said, you can go to their presentations with the intention of sitting through their 2 hour bullshyt and saying no to everything they offer, and picking up free shyt (I got a 4-day stay at a Universal Studio Resort). They do direct-level marketing, which is basically get you in the door by offering free shyt, and hoping to bully or manipulate you into buying a timeshare. They think once you are in, they will rope you in. I've been to multiple presentations, and always see couples buying in. Shyt is sad, there really is no benefit, even when they tell you that you will save money over the long run.
