I used to have an old F-150 and I got this error code about emissions. I looked it up and found out it wasn't shyt to worry about, so I drove on it for damned near a year. It was a shyt work truck so I didn't care if it blew up. The replacement part was $100+ but I found a cheap one online.

Fast forward about 5 years or so and I buy another cheap work SUV for hauling shyt, and after maybe 10 months I get the SAME emissions error code. Exact same one on a different vehicle and maybe 2 weeks after taking it to a shop for $1200 in repairs:what:

So, I head over to O'Reillys and they sell me this $120 part that I'm about to throw in, but the kid selling it makes a point about how I can return it if I don't need it. Way he said it sounded suspect as fukk:patrice:

So, I head home and start googling that shyt like crazy. Find out the error code *MIGHT* be thrown by a faulty part, but it can also be thrown by a low battery :stopitslime:

Sure enough, turns out it's a battery issue. Now, I'm wondering if either that mechanic was trying to get my ass back in the shop fukkign with my car or if those trouble codes are shady as fukk. I can imagine some woman who doens't want to fukk around under the hood taking her car in and getting taken to the cleaners.

Get your hands greasy, brehs :win:

They're real and Convent

But...a shop will snake you if you're dumb

Mine came on for emissions...turns out my gas cap was loose :mjlol:

I figured out out because I didn't tighten fully after a drunken night

Dude tried to tell me to leave it and they'll diagnose it. Pep boys scanners.

He said it wasn't a code related to gas cap.

I Google it and gas cap issues came up first

I dont ahve a buyer but I figured out hwo they put the shyttiest parts on your car if you take it in for shyt like oil changes and brake pads and charge you premium prices. Did my brake pads myself and I could get low-end sportscar stuff for what they charge you at a body shop.

Personally Pep Boys is a ripoff and I know a good amount about cars and parts.

Your uncle got you also...Seafoam in the metal can, not the aerosol costs at most $13 and either works better than or equal to whatever your uncle sold you.

Yeah, when my emissions came due, and I had the check engine light on, I just went to Advanced Auto and bought a code scanner for about $30 and reset the codes. Passed the emissions and the light came back on a day later. About six months later, my mechanic did something to fix it when I had my 15K service, but didn't charge me.

Yeah, the first thing to check when you get the emissions light or any light is if the gas cap is tight, or you pulled out of the station leaving it on top of the gas pump :snoop:
