Have O'Reilly to print you out a list of possible causes. Engine codes are basically set off by sensors on the car. I've say people check engine little coming due to a bad gas cap.

Get yourself an ODB II adapter and the software. This way you can hook it up and see your own trouble codes. I had a Volkswagen CC and whenever I got a CEL ID hook it up and see what's the code it threw back and research it. Saved me a ton of money especially since CC's are hella expensive to get fixed. My last code threw a code that every shop said it was like a $4K fix. I traded that bìtch in.

Also, it's not a scam if you're not willing and coragous enough to do the research and work on your own. I have an IT managed Services/consulting company as a side hustle and I charge between $80-$115 per hour. Even for easy fixes. If you're not willing to take the leap and do the work on your own then you gotta pay.

I invested a lot of time and money in my skill set and I plan to monetize it in as many ways as possible.

Personally Pep Boys is a ripoff and I know a good amount about cars and parts.

Your uncle got you also...Seafoam in the metal can, not the aerosol costs at most $13 and either works better than or equal to whatever your uncle sold you.

Why would I nees seamfoam? Just wondering it's the same shyt he sold me like Lucas Tune up in a bottle..That's ok though cause of the discounts I get and never having to worry about going to shady mechanics. It's well worth it

One code can be 4 different problems. :dead:

I'll just leave the check engine light on :manny:

yes ABSOLUTELY....I drove a toyota for 10+ years with the engine check light on....thank God I had a mechanic who I trusted who put me on to temporarily cutting the check engine light off to pass inspection

I used to have an old F-150 and I got this error code about emissions. I looked it up and found out it wasn't shyt to worry about, so I drove on it for damned near a year. It was a shyt work truck so I didn't care if it blew up. The replacement part was $100+ but I found a cheap one online.

Fast forward about 5 years or so and I buy another cheap work SUV for hauling shyt, and after maybe 10 months I get the SAME emissions error code. Exact same one on a different vehicle and maybe 2 weeks after taking it to a shop for $1200 in repairs:what:

So, I head over to O'Reillys and they sell me this $120 part that I'm about to throw in, but the kid selling it makes a point about how I can return it if I don't need it. Way he said it sounded suspect as fukk:patrice:

So, I head home and start googling that shyt like crazy. Find out the error code *MIGHT* be thrown by a faulty part, but it can also be thrown by a low battery :stopitslime:

Sure enough, turns out it's a battery issue. Now, I'm wondering if either that mechanic was trying to get my ass back in the shop fukkign with my car or if those trouble codes are shady as fukk. I can imagine some woman who doens't want to fukk around under the hood taking her car in and getting taken to the cleaners.

Get your hands greasy, brehs :win:
I got that same damn emissions error code in my car and I can tell you that even my mechanic told me its nothing to worry about.
