if i'm bugging, please let me know.
this is well within the realm of possibilities imo.

Nah, it's not you it's that they're openly attacking vets is a new low it's something they usually just implement through policy quietly.

They certainly could try but I don't think it's realistic. Legally, ethically, morally... I think it's pretty much a non-starter.

I'm not that fresh on it but I know they ran into a lot of problems doing this in Iraq, Afghanistan, and in post Kosovo.

Good thread from an angry vet on the suggestion that veterans are freeloaders gaming the system post-service. This will be an interesting conversation nationally, if it ever gets that far.

Thread by @Stonekettle: "Let me explain why this comment is so utterly dikkheaded: Veterans go through a long, complex process to obtain their VA benefits. That proc […]"
A lot of them are. If you find a veteran openly discussing his combat experience and ptsd just assume he/she's lying. 9 out of 10 times youll be correct.
Some of it is just people being generally full of shyt, but I think a lot of it comes from the pretend hero-worship that vets return to....makes them tell stories that live up to the hype..

Full disclosure, I am a veteran. You couldn't be further from the truth. You don't get benefits because you have a good story to tell or because people sympathize with you. The benefits veterans do receive require quite a bit of effort, correspondence and paperwork to receive while not being nearly enough. There is evidence of this with the existing numbers of homeless and unemployed veterans.
