Yea for sure. I think hip hop has always been controlled by the younger generation because as you get older you keep up with music less (less time to listen, more real life responsibilities etc). That 18-24 demo is always who determines what's "hot" on a mainstream level.

i'm mostly out of touch. I know some names just because I feel like I should, but I can't front like I listen to anything the kids are listening to. I'm cool with it. I had my time.

I do try and stay open minded and I'm not a hater. If someone wants me to listen to something I'll always give it a fair play, and I'll try to listen beyond my own taste and engage with it on its own terms. If someone can explain to me why they think it's dope, I'll try to hear it through that perspective. There's some stuff I've heard that I think is probably good for what it is and who it's aiming for, and some other stuff not that much
