And for the thread starter, cos the world cup/euros are every four years, there is so much at stake, even with a great team you can have one bad game and your fukked for another 4 years, especially if that's your best team in a while.

Make the superbowl(whatever), every 4 years, (id say add other countries, but noone else gives a fukk about superbowl) then see how excited you are about it.

Ryder cup is the closest you'll get I spose, but not everyone is into golf like that.

I think OP is forgetting how big, wide, and populated the U.S.

People in the U.S. take more pride in their city or state.

Texas, California, and Florida are bigger and more populated than a lot of countries.

The U.S. is so very ethnically divided.

I ain't going to lie. I root for Serena, because she is black. I could've careless about Lindsay Davenport and them. And most U.S. white tennis fans hate Serena because she is black.
