I never used the word fair.

In my opinion GS was good enough to beat them without Durant.

It was a competitive matchup before Durant.
Cavs can not compete vs them now. Hence why I said the rivalry is deaded because the makeup of one squad dramatically changed.

A Final between these new look Celtics versus the Warriors > a repeat of a KD-less Warriors versus the Kyrie-Brown-Love Cavs

That rivalry was bound to get played out. KD’s move helped accelerate the process and provided a better matchup for basketball fans.

We saw what a depleted Celtics team did versus the Warriors this season, a Finals matchup between them would go the full 7 games.

A team with a core of Kyrie, Hayward, Tatum, Horford, Brown, Rozier and Smart, that’s managed by Brad Stevens should be title favorites.
