After reading through your responses, you have clear biases which cloud your view of the show.Yeah so how can you say its a show about the city of Baltimore when its literally a show only about the bad parts of baltimore?
80% of the people the show focused on were bad or evil.
Its strange you watch a show and suddenly bad crooked cops aren't bad now.
drug dealers who murder and terrorize their own communities aren't bad
dirty lying and cheating politicians aren't bad
theives aren't bad
junkied aren't bad
Since when in reality are these people not bad?
Quasimodo and Nostradamus…..two totally different people.
it's interesting the coincidenceIt was a show about the city of Baltimore, if that was your takeaway then that says more about you.TheWire in a nutshell : black people are junkies, deviants and criminals and are bound to remain in the street forever
What was it?After reading through your responses, you have clear biases which cloud your view of the show.
Even your use of terms like bad and evil when discussing people seems like you missed the point of the show.
i felt that the point of The Wire was that the system fails everyoneWhat was it?
dealing drugs or killing innocent is not bad?

Quasimodo and Nostradamus…..two totally different people.

Bingo. The Wire showed really smart people that got caught up in the game but usually did OK because they were smart. It also showed how bad the schools were. Most of the kids had no chance. That was the goal
Dysfunctional educational system
Bad and evil exists. After reading through your responses, you have clear biases which cloud your view of the show.

The legal system and political system is comprised of peoplei felt that the point of The Wire was that the system fails everyone
the school kids. the teenagers. the adults. the cops. the teachers. the politicians.
at the end of the day, everyone was fukked
The legal system and political system is comprised of people
the criminal system is comprised of people.
All these people contributed to that little part of the ghetto they showed you being shyt.
Yet instead of looking at the very image they showed you and saying those people, the cops, the teachers, the politicians, the community, the drug dealers, the murderers should choose to live better and stop making their communities hell, you take the onus off them and claim somehow they are victims for being the embodiment and active participants in the actions that harms themselves and others.
Make that make sense.
Sad when you literally have no logic reply so you have to resort to name calling because you want to defend literal agents of destruction in a civilized society. You're such a whining little fakkit.
Again, you discuss bad and evil like the Wire is some type of Superhero show.Bad and evil exists.
There is nothing high minded about refusing to use those terms.
Now is a personally born evil or good? No.
But the actions that people take make them bad or evil or good.
The actions of the characters depicted on this show are largely of evil, they knowingly and purposely do wrong.
You missed so much in the show. It's a mirror of society and specifically the city of Baltimore. It's not supposed to be some idealized view of humanity. The legal system and political system is comprised of people
the criminal system is comprised of people.
All these people contributed to that little part of the ghetto they showed you being shyt.
You're talking about people, but the Wire shows that the system is broken. They are constantly reinforcing 'THE CHAIN OF COMMAND' throughout the series and if you break that chain there will be consequences.Yet instead of looking at the very image they showed you and saying those people, the cops, the teachers, the politicians, the community, the drug dealers, the murderers should choose to live better and stop making their communities hell, you take the onus off them and claim somehow they are victims for being the embodiment and active participants in the actions that harms themselves and others.
Make that make sense.
Good and evil does exist just not in the way you want it to. Criminality, right and wrong change everyday? Something was criminal and wrong today, but tomorrow its okay. Did I suddenly become a good person? Something was perfectly fine today, tomorrow it's bad/wrong, am I now a bad evil person?Bad and evil exists.
