Yes. Instead if searching for moment to moment happiness or chasing a thrill for peak happiness, I try to appreciate the journey I’m on and the highs I get from seeing my daughters progress or spending time alone with my woman.
A few years ago I was coming off of a divorce and got into an unhealthy relationship. It was stressful at all times. I had a lot of material items, but I dreaded going home. I have less material items now, but I’m happier.
I feel fuller spiritually. It came from within though. No person can bring you sustained happiness. They can only give you highs. The same way they can be the source of your misery. Try to start at your core and find what you love about yourself and work your way out. Finding happiness outside of your core will leave you feeling empty.
