Are you afraid of getting older??

I have noticed that some posters have an issue with old people.

After reading some replies on various threads, I wonder if these people are afraid of getting older?

I thought that was the goal in life, to grow up!

Has me worried, because I know elder abuse exists, but rarely discussed. I also understand that people get discriminated against based on age.

However, I don't understand why some people feel a certain way about people who are middle aged and older?

What's the issue?

How many people have said you know what, I do not want to get old and die, so I will just kill myself once I hit 40…or 50…or 60 etc…

You literally get older by the second. Getting old is like going to work. Everyone wanna have money, but hates working. Everyone don’t wanna die, but hates aging.

I want to be the one planning an exit strategy to an event I haven’t even driven to yet. I want to watch HGTV all day and freak over how many rooms have a walk-in closet. My old man looks great for his age so I can’t wait to get there. I’m already getting the salt and pepper look in my late 30’s only difference is my dads hairline was gone as early as 27 and my still crispy. It def comes from your mothers genes since all my uncles had a full head of hair up until their deaths.

I don't have a problem with getting older for now. I think the closer I get to 55 it'll change. I can't picture myself that old. Tbh I didn't plan to be here after the age of 27 so everything else is extra. I just don't want to be so old I can't take care of myself
